KENTUCKY ACCESS TO JUSTICE COMMISSION

Individuals who represent themselves in court cases without the assistance of an attorney (pro se) are called self- represented litigants. The Kentucky Access to Justice Commission is committed to the idea that all Kentuckians deserve access to justice and is collaborating with attorneys and Kentucky’s civil legal aid programs to assist low-income individuals with non-criminal legal issues. These issues include divorce, child custody, child support, eviction, foreclosure and veterans’ issues, among others.

LEGAL INFORMATION

Staff members do offer legal information which includes helping patrons locate and fill in the correct legal forms on a variety of topics. Many of the forms that patrons need can be completed through online guided interviews. The guided interviews are user friendly, with the patron simply answering a series of questions. Once the interview is complete, the program generates the required court documents.
